School for Failures : (Pragati Vidyalaya):
This activity is based on the ideology of community brotherhood of the institution. Out of twelve lakh students appearing for SSC examination every year, nearly 50% students fail. At the same time, the number of drop-out students is also quite large. Since the examination system aims at the evaluation of intelligence pursuit through the examination only, a larger section of society is deprived of the main stream life style. Such students can not have access to further education. Quite naturally, they suffer from many problems such as mental imbalance, psychopathy etc. Consistent failure of students creates among them complexes that lead to their psycho-physical deterioration and as a result, they involve in various infamous activities. In order to help such students, the institution on 5th August 1998 started school for Failures, a unique activity that aims to prepare the students the subjects like English, Mathematics, Social Sciences. Expert resource persons guide the students. Such students are responding to the activity since they have a provision for consistent Test-series, Guidance Sessions. It is a matter of great satisfaction that the passing percentage of this school is higher than the percentage of the Board’s Repeater Batch. In spite of it, the school has also initiated a novel project ‘Direct to Examination’ , an independent class exclusively for dropouts in Vth std. whose age falls above 14 years. For such students various guest-lectures on personality development are organized. This project strives hard to educate the deprived section of society.
